You do make magic happen.
— Vicki

The chance to spend some time “wandering” the streets of this city was not one I was willing to miss. And you so delivered! I think what made this so much more, and so memorable, was your knowledge of and almost reverence for this grande old Dame of a city! Each place we stopped at or visited was like a little jewel to be looked at and its brilliance discovered. Your love for the city and its magic is infectious. The trip was really more like an adventure with a friend, a dream come true.

—Kathi (Massachusetts)

By way of thank you and confirmation of an awesome time—I was blown away by your level of preparation. The museums you took us to, in fact, almost everything we did, were NOT things we ever would have discovered on our own. One of the things I was looking forward to was eating in restaurants that Parisians eat in. You def checked off that box. You may see me again with more friends!

—Jane (Massachusetts)

Paris with Lane from Paris Off Script was nothing short of phenomenal. Her knowledge about Paris is vast, but it’s her delivery that truly sets her apart. Lane is not just a guide; she’s a gifted storyteller who weaves facts, anecdotes, and her personal insights into a captivating narrative. What impressed us was her ability to connect with each one of us, to engage and appeal to all of us equally. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, Lane will open your eyes to the wonders of Paris in an entirely new way.

—Nancy (Minnesota)

Lane’s love of this city and culture comes through in every detail. The tour is a nice mix of history, culture, food and fun! She’s a true professional in everything she does and has found similarly-minded people in Paris to share their expertise. The boutique hotel was perfect, with a very generous breakfast in a beautiful setting. It was a once-in-a-lifetime trip!

—M.M. (Illinois)

Lane has a way of bringing the history of Paris to life and sharing her experience of the city that made this tour more like a trip with good friends rather than a “tour.” I’m still marveling at how unforgettable our stay was—the accommodations, the meals, and the wonderful people we met were all marvelous.

—K. A. (Massachusetts)

I am so sad that we have only two days left, says the woman who took four years to sign on the dotted line.

—J. A. (Massachusetts)

Lane is gracious and pleasant; a joy to spend time with whether walking the streets of Paris or enjoying a delicious meal in any of the fine restaurants she chooses. She is flexible and accommodating of individual interests. Her ability to manage unexpected metro closures and maneuver around the city is a huge benefit. She has a strong sense of responsibility and makes sure you get the experience you want.

—Tracy (Massachusetts)

We would have a wonderful dinner and then simply linger and talk…and talk…and talk some more about the thoughts and feelings the day had brought. It was a lovely experience to share with dear friends.

—Laura (North Carolina)

Truly unique. Once you experience it, you will never be able to walk down a street in Paris again in the same way.

—K. E. (Minnesota)

I did not want the trip to end. The week was wonderful, truly off script! From the moment I met Lane at the hotel until the last night at the restaurant, I was engulfed in a Parisian experience. This is what I wanted!!

Tricia (Indiana)

Wow Lane. What an incredible, incredible day!! I wouldn’t want to see Paris any other way!!

—T. F. (Minnesota)

There is not one word to capture the week. It was fun! It was relaxing! There were so many special experiences, eating with French artists, a jazz club, wine tasting, architecture tour, the history, the street art, the markets, museums, the hotel, and the FOOD!!! It is amazing how much the trip has stayed with me. I am already thinking of another trip to Paris.

P. E. (Kentucky)

For people who have previously visited Paris and/or seen the famous sites, your unique tour provides a much more in-depth presentation of the details of Parisian life and the people who live there. We enjoyed meeting with artists and craftsmen, sampling the culinary fare that is found in small shops, learning the occult details of street art, witnessing the physical remnants of epochs long gone, walking through the pretty neighborhoods, learning more about the key figures and events in the city’s history, and, of course, dining each evening at the superb restaurants that you had chosen. Your choices of the multimedia shows that we attended were first-rate.

M. B. (Massachusetts)

I want to tell you what a great time I had in Paris with you and Paris Off Script! I have told the story of our trip to many friends and acquaintances and recommended that they consider a trip with you. You do an amazing job of planning and organizing things. I loved our hotel and all of our restaurants. I also loved making chocolates and the food tour of Montmartre was spectacular! You have enormous historical knowledge.

Beth (Massachusetts)

It was such a lovely trip. Don’t know how you found that hotel, but it was perfect. I love boutique hotels, but this one was very special. The people, the location, the breakfast room…even the lovely people who served. Just such a special welcoming home away from home.

R. E. (Massachusetts)

I really appreciated how you incorporated the diverse interests of the people in our group as you planned the details of each day’s experience.

Paul (Massachusetts)

I think my favorite part of the experience was spending time with the Parisians. I love the community you’ve developed.

E. W. (Massachusetts)

Do people [who don’t come] know what a great adventure they’re missing?

–J. K. (Paris)

Paris is indeed a ‘moveable feast‘ when enjoyed under Lane’s expert guidance. We explored neighborhoods in the 3rd and the 11th that we never would have navigated on our own.  Our walking tour took us to an immersive art exhibit, a lovely park, an aromatic chocolatier and several interesting churches, all venues Lane knew we would enjoy because she took the time to ask about our interests in advance.  She was engaging, well  prepared, knowledgeable and fun! We highly recommend partaking of Paris with Lane as your guide!

Heather (New Hampshire)

Be prepared to eat amazing food, drink excellent wine, walk down narrow and fascinating streets, and learn about what makes the “City of Light” so special.

–S. S. (Washington)

My husband and I spent a wonderful time in November exploring Paris with Lane. She is warm and very easy going. Her passion for Paris is contagious! It was so relaxing and enjoyable having her plan and lead us to such wonderful off the beaten track places. She took us to a bakery that had the best croissants we ever had and to a chef’s table dinner that we will never forget. We had lots of laughs that make me smile as I think of our time together in such a special city.

–Susan K. (Minnesota)

We were in Paris for only a day and half and we wanted to make the most of our time there. The best decision we made was to engage Lane, owner of Paris Off Script. Lane arrived at our B&B at 9am, ready for the day with us. She was meticulous in her planning, even doing a dry run before we arrived of the tour that she created uniquely for us. As we walked, Lane told us the fascinating stories and history behind the buildings and characters who lived in Paris long before our time. Lane walked us back to our B&B at 8pm. By that time we had fallen in love with Montmartre especially, and all of its intriguing beauty and history. We so look forward to planning another trip to Paris and reserving more days with Lane to explore this beautiful city.

–Tom and Julie (Minnesota)

When people ask me about my trip to Paris I start my story with, "Can you imagine that you are in a Parisienne artist's home and studio to have a discussion of creativity and take a watercolor lesson?" The interaction with the denizens of Paris sets this tour apart from any other tour I've taken or read about. Loved Lane's focus on stimulating all our senses with activities and access that we never would have found on our own. Her research is impeccable and her manner is easy and participative. The day is carefree for the five of us that are lucky enough to be touring with her.

—Leslie (New Mexico)

I loved my week with Paris Off Script. It's the tour to take if you want to feel you're a part of Paris. With Lane's experience from years of traveling there, we navigated the city like locals. From walking tours of the beautiful neighborhoods, to a food walk with a chef and cookbook author, to wine tasting with a local merchant, and a chef's table multi-course dinner just for us, it was a week-long love affair with Paris. I'm still smiling thinking of the great time I had!

—Susan (Washington)

You have been to Paris. You've seen the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, relaxed in the Tuileries, and explored the Left Bank. Now it is time to organize a few friends and try Paris Off Script. You will stay in a cozy hotel in a comfortable neighborhood, walk and take the metro to new places in a city you thought you knew, meet interesting Parisians, eat well, and try some things you are not likely to find on your own. Lane is the perfect host. She has developed a network of friends who will give you a new appreciation of your favorite city.

During our visit, we met an artist in her atelier for a hands-on session with watercolors; learned about local foods from a delightful blogger; learned about and tasted French wines from a local expert; and spent an evening at the chef’s table in a restaurant kitchen enjoying many dishes with the chef as our guide. Along the way, we visited parks and neighborhoods completely new to us on walks that were delightful, enlightening, and entertaining. The trip was wonderful and unique.

—D. B. (New Mexico)

Being guided by Lane through obscure buildings, wonderful sanctuaries, and less traveled by-ways in Paris was a great pleasure. We spent an entire day exploring the Marais where our wanderings took us to Place des Vosges and the Jewish quarter. Along the way, Lane, a font of knowledge, entertained us with tales of murder and intrigue. We tasted Eastern European pastries, unforgettable paté de foie gras, and excellent croissants. Lane soon became much more than a guide—she’s a witty, charming narrator of the many stories of this fantastic area.

—Vicki (Minnesota)

We engaged Lane to give us a guided tour of things that are not the usual touristy places. Having been to Paris before, it was important to go through neighborhoods and get a real feel for the city. Lane met us at our hotel and we spent 12 hours walking and talking and eating and taking in the sights I had not seen before. We walked over 9 miles yet it seemed like we were just strolling. It was easy and comfortable and we had a memorable day. Lane is an excellent Francophile and we had the best time. It was worth every penny and she hit it out of the park!

—Alan (Minnesota)

If you are looking for a new way to see Paris, then Paris Off Script may be exactly what you are looking for. Lane Rosenthal has created an "experience tour" of Paris. It is all about experiencing the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Paris. You actually meet and talk to Parisians and hear their stories as they share their passions and their communities. I have been to Paris many times and this was the first time I really saw and understood why the people who live there are so proud of their own arrondissements. Thank you again, Lane, for such a wonderful time.

—Sharon (Washington)

Lane guided us to the small town near Paris where Van Gogh spent his last days. We would have never found this gem had it not been for Lane’s expertise in navigating the metro and train station. Our day was well spent in this charming village, paying homage to the great artist. We were delighted with the Absinthe Museum and a grand chateau above the town. This day will go down as a favorite among my many travels, and Lane made it all possible. Adventures await you with Lane as your guide!

—Bill (Minnesota)

We go to Paris every year and have spent a lot of time there. Last time we went we asked Lane what was new, and she directed us to a spectacular new exhibit. It was unforgettable! We’ll never go back to Paris without checking with Lane first! Elle connaît tout!

—B. V. (Minnesota)

I LOVED the Montmartre market walk. Your choice of lunch restaurants was great. I'll never forget the bowl of chocolate mousse, never!!! The hotel was merveilleux!!! Loved the room.

—Julianne (New Mexico)

Reality exists through the emotions and eyes of individuals. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen Paris the way you describe. Your travel companions are lucky to have you sharing and helping them see Paris.

S. D. (Strasbourg, France)

The trip certainly lived up to the expectation of seeing a more in-depth Paris.
I loved the trip.
